Another piece of gem I found while cleaning out my inbox! Smile

Someone once said, “Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn’t happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.”

God’s Word puts it like this: “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matthew 6:34)

  1. Pray
  2. Go to bed on time.
  3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
  4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
  5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
  6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
  7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
  8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
  9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together.
  10. Take one day at a time.
  11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can’t do anything about a situation, forget it.
  12. Live within your budget; don’t use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
  13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
  14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
  15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
  16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
  17. Get enough rest.
  18. Eat right.
  19. Get organized so everything has its place.
  20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life or draw your attention to God.
  21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
  22. Every day, find time to be alone.
  23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don’t wait until it’s time to go to bed to try and pray.
  24. Make friends with Godly people.
  25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
  26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good “Thank you Jesus.”
  27. Laugh.
  28. Laugh some more!
  29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
  30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
  31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
  32. Sit on your ego.
  33. Talk less; listen more.
  34. Slow down.
  35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe
  36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before.

GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU. “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

I probably will want to add making all-twine knotted rosaries (ala Rosary Army style) to the list too Wink

Ever thought about what it’ll be like if God responded to your prayers in real-time, even while you’re still praying (or trying to pray)? I think it’ll probably be pretty amusing.

Thanks to The Ironic Catholic for sharing this on his blog! Here’s a snippet:

Our Father, Who Art In Heaven.
Yes?
Don’t interrupt me. I’m praying.
But… you called me!
Called you? No, I didn’t call you. I’m praying. Our Father who art in Heaven…
There… you did it again.
Did what?
Called me. You said, “Our Father, who art in Heaven.”
Well, here I am. What’s on your mind?
But I didn’t mean anything by it. I was, you know, just saying my prayers for the day. I always say the Lord’s Prayer. It makes me feel good, kind of like fulfilling a duty.
Well, all right. Go on….

Yes! The “Podcast Reviews” series is finally back again! Today I bring you some podcasts I found that are made just for kids (and those young at heart too of course Smile )

It all started when I accidentally discovered the Sesame Street Podcast (rss). I grew up watching Sesame Street, so this podcast brought lots of happy memories. Boy do I miss those afternoons in front of the television watching Big Bird, Oscar, Cookie Monster, Bert & Ernie, The Count, Elmo, etc. A couple of years ago, I even had the Sesame Street theme song as my mobile phone’s ringtone!

The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd (rss) is one of the MOST successful podcasts for children, and are currently in their 7th season. I’ve heard it mentioned on many of my favorite podcasts, so I finally decided to subscribe to it, and listen for myself. It was storytelling at its best! I also discovered that there’s now a Adventures of Dr. Floyd Video Podcast (rss). It was a joy to watch! If you want the best of both worlds, you can also subscribe to their catch-all feed.

If you’ve enjoyed the above podcasts, you’ll most likely enjoy Animal Rescue Force Friends! (ARFF) (rss) by Dan Klass (of The Bitterest Pill fame) and his son, Hudson. Dan and Hudson tell educational, humorous and entertaining stories with their homemade puppets. It’s a pity that there’s only 2 episodes available, but with Dan’s busy schedule and the huge amount of time to produce and edit these video podcasts, it’s probably understandable. Still, I really wish to see more of this father-and-son duo. Perhaps if enough people email Dan to bug him about ARFF, he’ll realize the popularity of the series and produce more episodes! *hint hint*

If you’re a fan of Aesop’s Fables, like I was, you’ll love the Aesop’s Fables Podcast (rss) by LearnOutLoud.com. These stories are timeless and are choice material for parents of young children in teaching them moral values and moral living.

Well, that’s all I have for now. Please check out my Podcasts page for links to the podcasts mentioned here and many more others!
