I noticed it’s been quite a long while since I last updated the blog, so I thought I probably should give a brief update on what’s been going in my life. Just so that you all know that I’m still pretty much alive, and kicking.
As usual, work has kept me busy. Now that my bosses are cooped up in a meeting room, discussing the future of an upcoming product, I get a little bit of breathing space to relax a little.
Many things have happened in the past months. As most of you that are following me on Twitter/Plurk/Facebook already know, I recently broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years. There were many factors that led to the final decision, of which I will not discuss openly here. Let’s just say I’ve finally decided NOT to settle for 2nd best. Marriage is a commitment for life, and I do not want to regret later. After talking to a couple of colleagues who knew him (my ex was an ex-colleague of mine), I’m all the more convinced that I made the right choice in leaving him. Meanwhile, I’m trying to get back into the “swing of things” of being a swinging single again. I’m still open to starting a new relationship again, but there’s no hurry. I’ll just take things as they come my way.
Most of you also know that I sprained my left ankle pretty badly early last month. It had me limping around for a month!
Luckily for me, there were no fractures, or anything nasty. I’ve more or less regained most of the functionality of my ankle, but not all of the flexibility yet. The doctor has cautioned me about not injuring it again, or things could get complicated. So now I contemplate on every step that I take in life, quite literally.
Well, that’s all for now. Meanwhile, please check out the updated Podcasts and Links pages.
Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Alleluia!
Since it’s Easter today, I thought I’ll post something related. Greg and Jennifer Willits from The Catholics Next Door had the honor of interviewing the Easter Bunny. It was most insightful indeed. Enjoy!
Ever wondered what it would be like if Jesus, the disciples and practically everyone else had Facebook? Rosemary Azzaro gives us a tongue-in-cheek rundown of the Passion events on Jesus’s Facebook Fan Page.
Thanks to Mike Hayes for providing the link on his Googling God blog.
We are currently in the midst of “the week that changed the world”. Yes! It is Holy Week, most definitely the busiest week on the Church’s calendar. And as we meditate on Christ’s suffering and crucifixion for our salvation, the Stations of the Cross proves to be a powerful tool in our contemplation Christ’s Passion.
Here are a couple of Stations of the Cross recordings I’ve come across while listening to some of my favorite podcasts:
- Catholic Music Express
Jim O’Meara does a moving rendition of the Stations of the Cross as composed by St Alphonsus Ligouri, complete with beautiful contemporary Catholic music. - iPadre
A presentation of the Stations of the Cross, based on Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich by Father Jay Finelli. - The Catholics Next Door
Greg and Jennifer Willits does an audio version of the Stations of the Cross based on those celebrated by Pope John Paul II on Good Friday 1991. - Divine Mercy Podcast
Greg Keuter also has a recording of the Stations of the Cross on his site. - What Does The Prayer Really Say?
The great Father Z has a couple of these - Pray-As-You-Go
A series of 10 scripture-based meditations in the tradition of the Stations of the Cross.
Hope you’ll find the resources above inspiring and helpful in your Lenten meditation.
