Obama “Change” in the Work Place

I came across this on Catholic Fire. It’s SO hilarious, I just had to share this with all of you! Big Smile

Dear fellow employees:

As the CEO of this business that employees 140 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama will be our next President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases I figure that the clients will have to see an increase in our fees to them of about 8% but since we cannot increase our fees right now due to the dismal state of our economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This has really been eating at me for a while, as we believe we are family here and I didn’t know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled through our parking lot and found 6 Obama bumper stickers on our employees’ cars and have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off. I can’t think of a more fair way to approach this problem. These folks wanted change; I gave it to them.

Blog Review #3: Catholic Writings

First of all, I want to apologize for the lack of activity on this blog recently. Work has been piling up lately, and I also have some “issues” in my own personal life which I need to discern and think over really, REALLY thoroughly. (prayers appreciated!)

Personal problems aside, I’ve also been busy with blog reading (and listening to podcasts, of course). Most of the blogs I’m reading (particularly Catholic ones) are written by Americans or Europeans. Seems that the general western community is more net-savvy and are more ready to share their thoughts with the rest of the world. Asians on the other hand, tend to be more “shy” or reserved. But still, if you really look hard enough, you do come across some gems along the way.

One such “gem” is Catholic Writings (rss) by Daniel Tay (a.k.a. Catholic Writer). Daniel is an author and a journalist for Catholic News (Singapore). He’s even written a book, Befriending Jesus. Daniel writes about life as a Catholic in Singapore (hurray!). He also posts some reviews of books, movies, hangouts and food. I’m particularly impressed by his latest 3-part series of questions and answers on the Eucharist:

If you’re curious about Catholics in Singapore, you’ll probably enjoy reading Catholic Writings.
